I didn’t really spend that much time with her you know, it was more POD that got to abuse her, so I didn’t really spend that much time with her really, there wasn’t that much for me to get involved with.

What did she make of the look once it was done?

I think she was just massively unimpressed, as she is with everything.

Do the contestants actually dress like that every day or is it exaggerated for the show?

It’s not exaggerated at all, it really isn’t, we tell them to come how they come themselves and we don’t touch them before, the only time we touch them is after when we make them under. Its 100% their own doing.

Is it hard to take them seriously when you meet them and their dressed like that?

Well this series there’s this one girl who comes on the show and she came on dressed like an absolute nut job and then we made her under and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Then the next time I met her I thought well, she’s either going to look like the nut job again or she’ll have kept it, she walked in looking like bloody Charlie Chaplin, like full white painted face with a moustache and everything.

And that wasn’t what she looked like before the make-under?

No before she looked like, she had like dolls sticking out of her hair and stuff. I think she was just weird though.

Do you think you’d be where you are today if it wasn’t for Atomic Kitten all those years ago?

No I think it’s quite a difficult job to get into so I’m very fortunate to have started in Atomic Kitten because my face was always recognised enough from that and my name so it does help you when you’re starting to get into presenting.

Do you still speak to any of the other Atomic Kitten girls?

I do indeed, I do yes.

And we heard you set up a make-up academy in Manchester with your friend, tell us about that?

No, well I started the business with my friend but she was doing all the hard work so I pulled out of it basically.

Oh I see...but is it still running?

Yeah yeah, it’s Cassie Lomas Make-up Academy. You know I’m still involved as her best friend but I’m not involved as a business partner anymore.

What would you say has been the highlight of your career so far?

Oh gosh I don’t know. Probably singing backing vocals for Paul McCartney on Hey Jude and Buckingham Palace that was quite cool.

What have you got planned for the rest of 2011?

The rest of 2011 I want to spend quality time with my family and make good TV.
