Patsy Kensit

Patsy Kensit

Patsy Kensit made a splash at the end of last year when she waltzed her way through to the ninth week of Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress has just left behind Holby City and we caught up with her for a quick fire Q&A.

1. Hello there, what are you up to?

I’m working with Fruit Shoot on a project that I am really passionate about called Parents for Playgrounds.

It’s a social mission that asks parents around the country to nominate a playground that is in need of repair via www.readyforten.com, to give it the chance of winning up to a £15,000 renovation bursary.

2. And if we didn't have any clue as to who you were, what three words sum you up?

Mother of two. My kids are my priority and it’s the role I’m most focused on. At the moment they both live at home with me – I don’t want them to ever leave!

3. Now, clearly we need to get to know each other more, so tell me an interesting fact about you that no one else knows?

I would rather stay in wearing my flannelette PJs than go out for an interesting night on the town. I’m a real homebody.

I love nothing more than staying in and curling up to watch a film or read a book.

I'm a working mother and obviously by the end of the week I'm like anyone, I'm exhausted, I could stay in my pyjamas all day and just potter around.

4. What song do you wish you'd written?

Heroes by David Bowie. Such an amazing song.

5.  If I was contemplating coming out with you or sitting at home and watching TV, how would you convince me to come out?

Dinner is on me and we’ll be home early. But that said I’d rather stay in and cook - I make a great roast dinner.

I just love it - a chicken with parma ham over it, stuff it with garlic, drenched in oil with loads of lovely roast potatoes and greens and gravy. I love it.

6. And if you were to take me on a trip to your hometown, what would be the first place we'd go?

I used to do this with old boyfriends all the time. I would go to show you the convent school I went to, as it’s really pretty, so where I went to school in Twickenham.

7. Who was the last person you called / text and what for?

It was my son James, I wanted to check that he had gotten up to work ok. My mother and I were inseparable and she died when I was in my twenties, so I’d always thought it could be wonderful to have a girl and recreate that, but I have to say boys are amazing - they do really love their mum.

8. If you were a superhero, what would be your superpower?

Gosh I don’t know - I don’t ever think about things like that and there are just too many things to pick from!

9. If you had to date a member of the same sex who would it be?

Jackie Onassis if she were still alive. She was beautiful and an amazing spirit and someone I completely admire.

10. What was the last thing you bought?

Swimming shorts for my son Lennon yesterday, as we’re just about to go on holiday. I can’t wait to go away and rest now as it’s been a busy few months.

11. Have you ever been arrested?

No - experiences with my dad have made me the most law-abiding person ever. I wouldn’t even jump a red light!

You learn from everything that happens in your life - that's what I try to teach my boys.

12. What were you doing last night at 11?

I was asleep. I’m normally at home by 9 o’clock and in bed!
