Fireworks Celebration

With Christmas and New Year just around the corner, it’s almost time to get thinking about what you may want to do for your New Year’s Resolution! Will you be sticking to some of the traditional resolutions, such as promising not to go near a pizza for the next 12 months or giving up smoking, or will you go for something completely unique to spice things up a bit?

We’ve decided to give you some suggestions on what you could do if you’re a little stumped for ideas.

Get Yourself on Television

More and more reality, quiz and game shows seem to pop up as the months go by, so get yourself out there and audition for some of them! You could see yourself walking away with a gigantic cash prize, winning a record deal or becoming the next Amy Childs! Fame has never been easier to achieve, so don’t be afraid to put yourself forward once in a while if you’ve always wanted to join the stars of television. Just make sure you don’t become the show’s laughing stock!

Pick Up a New Hobby

Never played a video game in your life, or stepped foot in a social club? Now is the time to do so as you have the biggest excuse to put your hands to something you’ve never done before. It can be as simple as sitting down to watch the football, or even joining a football team yourself! Change is always a little daunting, but nine out of ten times it always pays off!

Learn Something New

Whether it’s learning how to cook a whole host of new meals, or discovering how rockets are constructed, it’s never a bad thing to try and expand your knowledge in any area. You’ll gain a lot of respect when you’re the only one who can answer somebody’s burning questions, but be wary of becoming the know-it-all that grinds everybody’s gears!

Write a Novel

Writing a book is becoming more and more popular as the matter of getting published becomes easier by the day. With the arrival of e-books came the possibility of setting yourself up with Amazon to get your work released to the Kindle-owning public, and so many more people have put pen to paper, (or finger to keyboard) in order to get themselves recognised as an author. If you think you’re going to have a lot of spare time in the New Year and can see yourself joining the ranks of J. K. Rowling and J. R. R. Tolkien, there’s nothing stopping you from giving it a go!

No matter what you choose to do, try not to become one of the majority that tend to give up in the first few months. Have faith in yourself and the rest should follow, but don’t be too disappointed if you give it your best shot and you’re still working at it this time next year. It just makes your 2014 New Year’s Resolution that much easier to decide!
