A fence generally means that you find it easy to establish clear personal boundaries with other people, so they know exactly where they stand with you.
You are likely to be a very open and transparent individual and tell people the truth even if it's unsavoury because you value trust and honesty and expect the same from others.
You are also every aware of your own limitations that you set for yourself. You probably structure your time so you have a balance between work and play and try to allocate equal time for your loved ones too.
You might create boundaries in your own time by compartmentalising aspects of your day, so they don't affect one another or become merged.
If the fence was put up without your say-so in the dream, then perhaps you feel a lack of control at the moment and someone or something is encroaching on your home or work life and you're not comfortable with it. Do you need to let them know that they have crossed the line?
You might have told a person what your boundaries are and they are ignoring them or seeing how far they can push them.
It’s possible you recognise that something is taking over, but you feel obliged to do it anyway. It might be time to readdress the balance or speak to the person who has overstepped the mark.
More negatively- the fence might be linked to a self-inflicted obstacle or barrier that is standing in your way. Perhaps you feel confined or restricted- but ask yourself- is the blocker there because of you? You might be looking to pass the blame onto someone else however the feeling of being fenced in might be entirely down to you.
Finally, a fence might be a sign that you need some privacy right now. If there was a hole in the fence- perhaps this has been compromised if someone is intent on knowing your business.
