If you dream about a new hat, it’s possible you are considering taking on a new role or have recently accepted a new responsibility.

If the hat was old and tattered, perhaps something in your waking life has run its course and it’s time to let go. This could be a job, a relationship or a way of life- it might be time to rethink things.

If the hat was too small for you in your dream then maybe you had hopes for something that hasn’t come to fruition.

If the hat was too big for you head, it’s possible you have entered into something that is beyond your capabilities and need to be more realistic with your choices and promises in future.

Wearing a hat in your dream, even if it was the right size, could indicate that you are trying to hide some part of yourself from someone or trying to display a certain side of yourself. Maybe one you believe to be more acceptable to others.

If you were swapping hats and wearing a number of sizes, then you may be someone who can cope with having many roles in your private or professional life and handle the responsibility with grace. Perhaps you are trying to decide what attitude you should have toward something- a new role or an issue you’re facing. Or maybe which side of your personality will fit in best with a certain person.

On the other hand if you felt wearing the different hats was a negative experience, then you may be overwhelmed with everything that is expected of you in your waking hours and feel like you’re being stretched too thinly at work or at home.

If you couldn’t decide on a hat to wear, then it’s possible you are pondering over something and can’t make a decision. You may also feel the pressure to choose from an outside source.

If you were taking off a hat, then you may think that someone or something deserves your respect. Alternatively, you might be ready to reveal something about yourself to others.

The type of hat can also be revealing. A sports hat can resemble your competitive edge and a top hat might be a reminder of you of your need for attention and admiration.
