It could also serve as a warning that you are in danger of losing your current job or that you have done something that could result in you being fired. Perhaps you need to treat carefully over the next few months if you have done something that could jeopardise your position.
If you are currently out of work- then it may be your subconscious telling you to look for something asap.
Another possibility is that your job is about to end in a few weeks or months because of redundancy or a temporary contract and you know that you should be applying for jobs during this time.
Filling out a job application is also thought to mean that you feel you are lacking something in your life.
It does not have to be work related but some other area that you feel is unfulfilled. This could be linked to your relationship, a hobby, a friendship or family for instance.
Try to remember what the application was for as this might give you greater insight into what you need to focus on to make you feel happier.
On the other hand, the dream could be a pun for needing to ‘apply’ yourself more.
