To dream about a dragon suggests you are terrified of something or someone in your waking hours.

Consider who was with you or what else you could see in the dream for additional meaning. Why are you so afraid of this thing or person? How can you overcome these intense feelings?

Perhaps you are acting dangerously towards someone in your life at present or feel that someone else is and that is what is scaring you so much.

Do you need to stop this behaviour before it gets you into real trouble or create some space between you and the person you believe to be acting so recklessly?

The fear might arise from being afraid of someone else’s temper. A dragon breathing fire could be a symbol of this person getting ‘fired up’. What can you do to help them calm this anger?

Do you have a tendency to aggravate the situation? If so, perhaps you need to look at your own behaviour and how this is contributing to this escalation.

On the other hand, if you are someone who struggles to tame such intense feelings do you need to seek some professional help?

Even if you were scared of the dragon, did confront it anyway?

The dream might be telling you to face your fears rather than turning and running away from them despite how much they unnerve you.

If the dragon was standing between you and someone you love- maybe you needed to rescue them- this represents a challenge you must face in order to protect someone you care about.

Similarly, if there was something in the background that meant a lot to you, perhaps you need to defeat the enemy the dragon represents to get what you want from life.

The enemy might be a crippling lack of confidence (for example) or another personal barrier you must overcome.

The dragon could be a symbol for someone in your life who pushes you to do things, even if there is some danger involved or the thought makes you very uneasy.

If you feel this person is doing this for all the wrong reasons, it might be time to distance yourself from them.

To see yourself as the dragon implies that you like to scare people into getting what you want. If this approach is getting you nowhere, it might be time to change your approach.

Dragons are mythical beasts, so it’s possible you believe an untruth and the dragon represents this story or tale you are being told.

Try not to get swept up in things that are based on gossip and speculation. Believe in what you can see and the facts, then simply discard the rest.

If there were tools in your dream that you had no idea how to use, perhaps you are feeling unprepared for something in your waking hours. This is also true if you saw tools that you couldn’t reach, even if you did know what they were designed for. To dream of learning to use a tool, implies that you are making an effort to become more independent and resourceful. The dream could be telling you to keep going as the skills you are acquiring could come in useful in both your professional and personal life. Consider who else was with you in the dream as seeing tools and someone specific could mean you have issues that need to be fixed within this particular relationship.
