Regan Hall made his directorial debut earlier this summer with Fast Girls and now the inspirational an charming movie is out on DVD & Blu-Ray.
When sassy streetwise Shania (Crichlow) meets ambitious, middle class Lisa (James), their two worlds collide on the athletics track with explosive results.
As the Fast Girls strive to qualify for a major world athletics championship, they battle adversity and rivalry on their dramatic, heartwarming and inspirational journey.
If you are missing some of the Olympic excitement that swept the country earlier this summer than Fast Girls is the movie for you as it breathes new life into the underdog sports genre.
Hall may be making his directorial debut with this movie but the very experienced Noel Clarke has penned the scrip and he has delivered an energetic and inspiring story about working for you dreams.
Lenora Crichlow is fantastic as Shania as she once again shows that she is an actress that is going places.
And through this character this movie delivers a great message that no matter what walk of life you are from you can achieve exactly what it is you want through hard work and determination.
Crichlow spars well with Lily James who also delivers a great performance as the ambitious and privileged Lily - who is very much driven forward by a pushy and overbearing father.
Of course the script is a little predictable as the fractured group of runners come together for last chance at glory - but it really does work really well.
The actors along with script-writer Clarke has developed a group of engaging and interesting characters that you can't help but root for.
And it is Shania in particular that you are willing to succeed but what is so great to see is this movie doesn't go easy on the central character.
Fast Girls is an engaging and entertaining movie from start to finish and you won't be able to help but get swept along in the racing and the rivalry.
This is a British movie that is not to be missed!!
