From Oscar winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) comes the highly anticipated release of the iconic Brit-flick Trainspotting and the cult thriller Shallow Grave.  Both are being released for the first time on Blu-Ray and DVD on 1st June 2009 courtesy of 4DVD.

Trainspotting fans are treated to a brand new specially commissioned 40 minute feature with director Danny Boyle, producer Andrew Macdonald, screen writer John Hodge and stars Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Ewen Bremner and Kelly Macdonald.

Trainspotting is the cult British film that captured the minds of a generation. The film, based on the novel by Irvine Welsh, charts the drug-fuelled disintegration of a group of friends in economically-depressed Edinburgh during the early 90s.

The film focuses on Renton who has chosen to live a blissful, pointless life in a heroin induced daze. We’re introduced to Renton's friends, two fellow junkies Sick Boy, who fancies himself as a bit of a ladies man, and hanger-on Spud; as well as clean-living Tommy, and Begbie, a borderline psychotic who loathes junkies yet drinks like a fish.

After a few attempts at getting clean and one too many brushes with the law, Renton kicks heroin and moves to London, where he finds a job, a flat, and starts to get his life on track until his old friends turn up on his doorstep on the trail of a big score, leading Renton back into drugs and crime.

Starring Ewan McGregor (Star Wars, Moulin Rouge) as Renton, Ewen Bremner (Snatch) as Spud, Jonny Lee Miller (Mansfield Park) as Sick Boy, Kevin McKidd (Rome) as Tommy, Robert Carlyle (The Full Monty) as Begbie and Kelly Macdonald (No Country For Old Men) as Diane.

This critically acclaimed film, ranked 10 in the British Film Institute’s Top 100 British Films poll, is released for the first time on Blu-Ray as an Ultimate Collector’s Edition.
