When a Twitter user pointed out the very fancy names of some Telegraph columnists, another came up with a hilarious formula to find out our own.

Since seeing that there are real people out there with names as sophisticated as Sophia Money-Coutts and Harry De Quetteville, it suddenly made Joe Public seem, well, quite Joe Public really.

Another user picked up on the tweet and quoted it saying “Your telegraph columist name is your first pet, the road you grew up on (hyphen) an object in front of you."

The now-deleted tweet went viral, but not before some of us plain-named Janes attemped to find out our upper-class online alter-egos.

Of course, we always suggest thinking before tweeting when it comes to potentially threatening your online security - the reason behind the swift tweet-delete.

There were some absolutely brilliant responses, including these from politicians and celebrities...

The tweet has now been deleted since several other users picked up on a scary theory…
