Nick Bateman

What he’s remembered for:

Nick is one of the most notorious housemates in Big Brother history. ‘Nasty’ Nick personified the pantomime villain in the house when he was asked to leave Big Brother 36 days into the very first series after he was exposed for trying to manipulate fellow housemates’ nominations.

At the time he was the most popular housemates within the house and his fellow housemates were shocked when it was discovered he had been passing secret notes to other to try and influence their nominations. He also lied about having a wife who died in a car accident.

Craig Phillips sensationally confronted him and he was asked leave the series for breaking Big Brother’s rules. The news that he had been thrown out featured on every national newspaper in the UK with the Guardian even dubbing him ‘The Evil Genius’.

His life post Big Brother:

Nick has been very busy since being booted out of the Big Brother house way back in 2000. In 2001, he won The Celebrity Weakest Link, donating the £10,000 prize fund to Cancer Research. Four years ago he even found the time to get married and now works as a travel journalist for Good Holiday Guide and the Reading Evening Post.
