Comedy legends Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly have plans to record a rap album after landing a "big time producer" to collaborate with them on the project.
The Step Brothers co-stars have toyed with the idea of releasing a joint music endeavour in the past to entertain fans with their rapping skills as seen in spoof songs such as 2008's Boats 'N Hoes. The pair even posted a video of it on YouTube.com.
The plans have now been put in motion, according to Step Brothers director Adam McKay, the are hoping to secure hip-hop star Mos Def to join them on a track.
McKay writes on Twitter.com, "I wasn't kidding about Step Bros rap album. And we just found out we have a crazy big time producer.
"Mos Def, you up for a guest flow?"
The filmmaker is yet to reveal the identity of their mystery producer.
This rap collaboration will not be Ferrell and Reilly's first venture into hip-hop, they both featured in Fight For Your Right Revisted, a short film about iconic rap group the Beastie Boys.
