Jac was left unconscious after her motorbike crashed when she was rushing to get to Joseph to inform him about Faye’s husband, Lucas. Now back at Holby and unable to speak clearly, she is rambling, saying odd words about “Faye” and “Lucas” to a confused Linden. Joseph rushes to her bedside. Faye, knowing Jac knows about Lucas, tries to keep Joseph away from her, but Joseph is intent on seeing Jac, as he believes she knows something important. She tried to call him 5 times before her accident. Elliot is concentrating on his speech for the ‘Byrne Foundation’ publicity event - a press event based around the anniversary of the first heart transplant operation that has been organized by him and Lady Byrne (Ann-Marie). They and CEO Jayne Grayson hope that attention from the local media will bring in new donations for the Trust fund . Elliot’s old friend and local celebrity, Gordon Ramsay, has been invited to open the event. He has raised thousands of pounds over the years in support of the hospital Trust fund. A journalist from a national tabloid newspaper arrives hoping to meet the chef Gordon Ramsay but of course there's been a mix-up. Not amused by the way the day is turning out the journalist tries to seek out a ‘sexier’ story. It becomes clear that Gordon’s memory is not what it was when he and Elliot last met. This is made apparent when Gordon asks how Gina is doing, Gina having been dead for nearly a year and Gordon having sent a card of condolence. Gordon is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. He confesses his memory is getting worse but he can’t afford the treatment he needs which is not available on the NHS. So he turns to Elliot for help, thinking because he has raised so much money for the Trust, he should get ‘special treatment’. Elliot, not wanting to turn his old friend down, says he will see what he can do. Joseph checks on how Jac is doing and Linden informs him of her ramblings about Faye and Lucas. Not knowing whom this Lucas character is, Joseph quizzes Faye. Faye denies any knowledge of a Lucas claiming Jac is talking nonsense due to her accident. Elliot talks to Jayne about the hospital paying for Gordon 's expensive treatment but Jayne doesn’t believe it is a sensible use of hospital funds. Elliot breaks the news to Gordon who doesn’t take it very well and breaks down in front of Elliot. Distraught by the news, he informs Elliot he will give the journalist the ‘sexy story’ she has come here to find: the fact that the main fund raiser for the Trust can’t himself get the treatment he needs. Jac wakes up for a minute to see Joseph standing over her. She tells him about Faye 's marriage to Lucas. Joseph then can’t concentrate on his duties and he takes his anger out on a patient. Joseph informs his mother, Ann -Marie, of what Jac has just told him, but her response is that she believes in Faye as she has no reason to hurt Joseph. Joseph still emotionally lost, listens to his mother's advice but is still suspicious of Faye’s activities. This is fuelled further when he receives a call from his bank informing him that the £5,000 cheque he had given Faye, which she said she would not use, has in fact been cashed. Meanwhile, Elliot tries to talk Gordon out of going to the press about his treatment but soon finds out that he’s completely forgotten the whole thing. However, later the journalist tells him Gordon told her some crazy story that Elliot had killed his wife. Elliot is naturally very upset by this, as Gina had actually committed assisted suicide. Michael has an unexpected visit from a friend of his family from the US who needs some treatment that she thinks won't be covered by her health insurance. Michael manages to push her through her operation on the NHS. Meanwhile Donna and Michael’s flirting continues as ever and she asks him to be a butler in a Butler Sale she is organizing tonight to raise money for the foundation. Daisha answers Faye’s phone to someone claiming to be Faye’s ‘husband’, Joseph grabs the phone and demands the person explains himself. The person on the other end of the phone just replies “Tell Faye I’m going home and not to follow me”. A sudden storm drives all Trust celebrations to the bar. The day's event has been a success. At the Butler Sale, Sam is bought by Maria and surprisingly, Michael is bought for £500 by Connie. Gordon Ramsay then tries to make a "thank you" speech praising Elliot and Ann-Marie but, to Elliot's horror, he introduces Ann-Marie as Gina. This is too much for Elliot who leaves the party. Ann-Marie follows. On what should have been such a happy evening, Elliot tells Ann -Marie that their relationship cannot continue. He would never marry another woman as he is still in love with Gina. Ann -Marie confesses she has feelings for Elliot and was hoping they could be together one day. Elliot says no, he wants to be buried with Gina, no one else. Ann-Marie leaves.
