Take the opportunity to get glammed up surrounded by your closest friends and have a glass of bubbles, a posh lunch and a flutter on the races. Here are our top tips for getting prepared for the ultimate day out with your favourite ladies.

Organise a date

Racing takes place all year round, so you'll have a number of options when it comes to finding a date everyone can make. Choose from racecourses, get the dates and times all secured in your diaries and buy your tickets. Don't forget to plan an outfit!

Make a whole day of it

We all have incredibly busy lives, so now you've nailed down a date you can all do, you may as well go all out and make a day of it. Arrange to have the whole group over to get ready, create hair and make up stations and get provisions in for a delicious brunch before you set off. If you've got a lot to catch up on, extending the day will be the perfect opportunity to discover all you need to know.

Check the odds

Make sure you check the horse racing form and odds before you go online with betting experts such as William Hill. That way, before you go, you'll have a list of all the races and can highlight the horses and jockeys you have earmarked to bet on before you arrive. By being prepared, you give yourself a better chance of turning a little profit. Alternatively, have a flutter before you go so you can spend your on-the-day funds on food and drink.

Set yourself a budget

To ensure the day is fun and in keeping with the spirit you initially intended it's important you don't get carried away with spending. To make sure this is the case, it's a good idea to set yourself a betting budget and stick to it. In fact, only pop in your purse what you intend to spend and put your winnings in another pocket.

Plan your transport

Racecourses become very busy with traffic at all times during the year, so it's a great idea to plan your transport options well in advance of your day. To save yourself transportation headaches, why not book a minibus or taxis from and back to the address at which you're getting ready? You'll all be together, no one will be left behind or lost in the crowd and no one in your party will have the unenviable responsibility of driving.

Hopefully these five tips for getting your friends together will contribute towards a day packed full of fun and laughter with your favourite people.
