Britney Spears took to her social media overnight to reveal that she hadn’t yet watched the Framing Britney Spears documentary, but from the snippets she had viewed and what she had been told, it left her feeling completely embarrassed.

Those working hard to ensure #FreeBritney stays trending on Twitter and other platforms however, aren’t convinced it was actually the Princess of Pop making the statement, as it dropped around the same time as court documents from her conservatorship battle against her father, Jamie Spears, were also revealed.

Said documents show that whilst Spears is trying to rework her conservatorship, she's the one who has to pay for her father's lawyers to fight against those very wishes because of the deal currently in place.

What’s also strange is how Framing Britney Spears appeared to show how Spears has absolutely no control over the majority of aspects in her life, including what is posted to her social media. It’s something that news outlets picked up on at the time, but they’re now parroting her Instagram post in regards to the film as if they’re facts. It’s not something that have escaped her supporters…

Whilst we’re not sure we’ll ever know the entire truth surrounding the situation, we hope that Spears will eventually find some peace in her life and be able to put what must be another very hurtful and damaging chapter in the past.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has a case to answer in regards to Jennifer Arcuri, who claims to have had a four-year-long affair with the PM, in which she says she was given money and taken on expensive trips, all at the expense of the British taxpayer.

If you look at the majority of British news outlets however, you’d be forgiven for not knowing that this was even a story right now…

Still, there are plenty of activists who are hoping to keep up the pressure on Johnson, getting #WeNeedToTalkAboutArcuri trending on Twitter and tagging some of the biggest names in political news in their concerns.

Whether or not it will have an effect remains to be seen, but if we continue to let things like this slide, we’re setting ourselves up to fail as a democracy in the future.
