Congratulations are in order for wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson, who yesterday (August 18th) married his partner of more than ten years, Lauren Hasian, in a private ceremony in Hawaii. The pair already have two children together, and if anyone is deserving of a happy ending, it's The Rock.

He may have built a career out of his bad-guy image thanks to eight years in the WWE, but it's no secret that he's really a teddy bear. He once said in an interview with Oprah: "It's nice to be important but more important to be nice. I heard that from a friend when I was about 15, and I've never forgotten it." We can't agree more.

Perhaps the thing we love most about him is that he doesn't take himself too seriously, despite the fact that he has every right to; he's hot, a wrestling legend and an always in-demand actor. But he loves to make people laugh at any opportunity. His movies prove as much. He had lead roles in the comedies Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle , Baywatch and Tooth Fairy, and provided the comic relief in Disney's Moana.

No only that, but he's one of the most hard-working and diligent actors in Hollywood. At any one time he's got a number of projects on the go. Just this year alone he's appeared in Fighting with My Family, WWE SmackDown Live and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, with Jumanji: The Next Level to follow in December. Meanwhile, he's currently working on Jungle Cruise, Rawson Marshall Thurber's Red Notice and Black Adam, while also being announced to star in Robert Zemeckis' The King, San Andreas 2, Doc Savage and Big Trouble in Little China.

Meanwhile, he's always got time for his family. To thank his father, former wrestler Rocky Johnson, for everything he's done to help get Dwayne where he is today and for the discipline he instilled in him, he bought him a house earlier this year. He even let him choose a property wherever he wanted to be located. We love a story about celebrities taking care of their elders.

He's not just charitable towards his own family either. While it's a prerequisite of fame to give to charity, the causes that celebrities give to are quite telling. For example, Dwayne Johnson has his own organisation - the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation - which works with terminally ill children and has worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation numerous times. He once donated $1,500 to a GoFundMe campaign to help an abandoned dog get surgery, and donated thousands to relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey and the 2018 Hawaii floods.

All in all, The Rock is a celebrity hero and a terrific role model. We wish him all the best in his new marriage.
