We can’t get enough of podcasts here at Female First. That’s why every week, we’re reviewing our favourite one to binge-listen to.

This week it's Maddie

The great thing about podcasts is how conveniently simple they are to consume – you could be driving, cooking, working out – they require no visual engagement. All you need is a handy device to listen on, and you can go about your daily life listening to whatever you enjoy.

From crime to comedy, history to health, there’s something for everyone in the wonderful world of audio programmes.

Our favourite podcast this week is Maddie.

Why: Every now and again the media frenzy around Madeleine McCann’s disappearance reboots – usually ignited by a new documentary, book release or appeal by the family. Ever since the recent release of the Netflix docuseries, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, it’s set everybody off talking about the case, with many people sharing their own theories and opinions on the situation.

If you prefer to listen to podcasts over watching TV, then you might be feeling a bit left out of the current discussions. That’s why we were so pleased to find that there is a podcast covering the most well-known missing person in the world, so we can get our fix too.

Who’s the host? Reported, written and narrated by Mark Saunokonoko, the podcast is one from the network Nine.com.au.

As we’ve mentioned in the past, when you’re dealing the podcasts it's absolutely vital that the story is told well, and the narrator has a voice you want to listen to. And who doesn’t love an Australian accent? Mark’s voice is engaging, telling the story clearly and in a way we want to keep listening.

What’s it about? The podcast discusses the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, providing possible theories as to what happened on that May night back in 2007 in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Of course, we all know most of what there is to know – it was very hard to avoid hearing about back when the news originally broke – but it’s certainly an interesting recap.

Where can I listen? If you’re wondering where you can get your fix of this true crime, head over to Spotify, iTunes, Listennotes, Podbean and more…
