Watch a scary movie: It’s cliche but with an abundance of platforms at your fingertips, there is bound to be a suitable movie to eat your Halloween candy to and turn the lights out for.  While you still have a few days before the big event, why not browse and save any that take your fancy so you don’t have to bother doing the scrolling on the night?

Go pumpkin picking: Check out Facebook for some of your local farms who will no doubt be putting on a pumpkin picking event in their grounds. Wrap up warm and find the biggest, best pumpkin you can and then take it home to carve. And if you’re feeling competitive, get one for each member of your family and see who can carve the best one!

Dance to your favourite scary music: If you’re stuck for inspiration we have you covered with our top picks for Halloween listening, so dress up as a witch, a ghost, a cat, a vampire, whatever takes your fancy and bust your best moves!

Decorate, decorate, decorate: Who says you can’t go all out if you’re not having guests? Put tea lights in your newly carved pumpkins, collect acorns, cones and conkers and put them in a decorative bowl, drape the walls in leafy autumnal lights and plant the fake spiders till your heart is content!

Boutique interiors brand Paper Dreams has launched a collection of spook-tacular Halloween decorations for the home. Available in both stylish novelty shapes and more traditional styles, there's something fang-tabulous for every home!

Go all spooky in the kitchen: Find your favourite biscuit recipe and shape them into pumpkins, cook some stuffed peppers that you have carved first with scary faces, or why not bake a cake and decorate it with Halloween sprinkles? You don’t have to be an expert in the kitchen to make something that will satisfy the occasion.

Get your favourite Halloween drink to take away: Starbucks has brought back its legendary Pumpkin Spice Latte just in time for the scary season, which you can take to go. So, why not get one for each of your family members and enjoy a Halloween cuppa together around your dining room table along with a cheeky themed biscuit?
