Love them or hate them, avocados are a super food which provide nutrients our bodies love.

Do you need some avocado inspo?

They’ve become a bit of a trend too, making their way onto t-shirts, pencil cases and phone cases.

They are probably the most fashionable fruit going – we’ve never seen anyone sporting a cauliflower jumper or a protecting their phone with a rubber leek-shaped case, after all.

Even though avocados are highly Instagramable, many people just don’t share the same love for the green as we do. But they can be enjoyed in many ways other than simply plonked on a salad.

Here are some ways you can sneak avocado into your diet without upsetting your taste buds.

Nachos

Who doesn’t love nachos? The dish is a favourite in Mexican cuisine, full of different flavours and textures.

Tortilla chips with melted cheese, salsa and soured cream is a dream, but have you braved the addition of guacamole?

There are so many easy-to-follow recipes to make home-made guacamole, but if you prefer a quick and easy fix, adding a few tablespoons of shop-bought guac makes for a great combo too!

Peanut butter and avocado on rice cakes

This one is for the more adventurous veggies amongst us.

Peanut butter on rice cakes is a great healthy snack – particularly for after a work out (did you check out our 7 post-workout snacks the other day?)

But adding some chopped avocado makes for a tasty topping and takes away some of the dryness that some people dislike in this carb and protein combo.

Scrambled eggs

If you like your eggs in the morning scrambled, then adding some diced avocado to your breakfast dish may be the way to get this superfood into your diet.

Stir in the avocado to the scrambled eggs, and add some cheese, salt and pepper for flavouring, and voila, a tasty way to level up the most important meal of the day.

Sushi

The traditional Japanese cuisine is usually made with fish or shellfish, but for the vegetarians out there, sushi can become a bit boring – often made with cream cheese or peppers.

If you want to make the most of your sushi experience, adding avocados to a California roll is a tasty and filling way to implement them into your diet.

Pancakes

With Shrove Tuesday only a month away, we think it’s time to start planning what toppings to have on pancakes.

Side note: Pancakes are for life, not just for pancake day.

Pancakes are a carby cuisine but topping them with sliced avocado and a drizzle of honey is a brilliant way to add flavour and nutrients to this mouth-watering dish.
