In our weekly feature on the ins and outs in women's sport, the good news continues to roll in for women's football while the Women's Rugby Super Series is set for San Diego.

Cricket

England are continuing their dominant form in Sri Lanka as they not only whitewashed their hosts in the three-match ODI series, but also took 1-0 lead in the T20 series.

They secured the ODI series clean sweep on the back of an eight-wicket win in the final ODI with Amy Jones once again the star of the show.

The bowlers dismissed Sri Lanka for 174 with Kate Cross, Anya Shrubshole and Alex Hartley each picking up two wickets. Jones then took over as she notched up her third consecutive half-century to lead her side to a comfortable win.

It was also one-way traffic in the first T20 as England won by eight wickets.

After electing to bat first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 94 with Linsey Smith's three for 18 doing most of the damage. England then chased down the target in 14.2 overs with Tammy Beaumont’s 43-ball half-century taking them across the finish line.

Football

The good news keeps on rolling in for women's football as Barclays has announced that they are to become the first-ever title sponsor of the Women's Super League in the biggest-ever deal for women's sport in the United Kingdom.

They have signed a three-year deal, which starts from the 2019-20 season, which is worth more than £10 million.

Prize money for the WSL will hit the £500,000 mark next season, but more importantly it will give the clubs playing in the top flight some much-needed financial security.

Kelly Simmons, the FA’s director of the professional women’s game, hailed the deal as another major step towards making the WSl the  "world’s most successful league".

"We are delighted to announce our landmark partnership with Barclays and are looking forward to them joining us on a journey to transform the future of women’s football," she said. "Their record, multimillion-pound commitment will impact all levels of the game and will support our ambition to make the Barclays FA Women’s Super League the world’s most successful league, on and off the pitch."

As for on-field action, Arsenal are now in the driving seat in the WSL after they moved top of the standings with a 5-1 demolition of Liverpool.

A brace from Beth Mead and one each from Kim Little, Dominique Bloodworth and Vivianne Miedema helped the Gunners to cruise to victory.

It means Arsenal are one point clear of Manchester City and they need only nine points from their final four games to win the league for the first time since 2012.

Bristol City edged to within three points of Birmingham City in fourth place with a 1-0 win over Everton, courtesy Lucy Graham's goal.

Chelsea were in Uefa Champions League action in midweek and they appear to have one foot in the semi-finals after beating Paris-Saint Germain 2-0 through goals from Hannah Blundell and Erin Cuthert.

In other results, defending champions Olympique Lyonnais have a 2-1 advantage over Wolfsburg, Barcelona are in the driving seat as they beat LSK 3-0 in the first leg while Slavia Praha and Bayern Munich played to a 1-1 draw.

Last week we reported how Atletico Madrid and Barcelona broke the record for the biggest crowd at a women's league game and this week it is the turn of Juventus Women to hit the headlines.

A crowd of 39,000 turned up as Juventus Women played their first-ever match at the Allianz Arena against Fiorentina. The hosts didn't disappoint as they won 1-0.

Golf

Jin-young Ko is the 2019 Bank of Hope Founders Cup champion after an excellent final round saw her clinch a third LPGA Tour title.

The South Korean fired a seven-birdie 65 for a total 22-under par at Wildfire Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona, to finish one shot clear of American sisters Jessica and Nelly Korda, Spain’s Carlota Ciganda and China’s Yu Liu.

"I didn’t think about winning today," Ko said. "I had to really focus on my game. I just tried (to play) shot by shot and not thinking about the future, just, like, now.

"So, amazing day."

Rugby

The 2019 Women's Six Nations is done and dusted, but you can view the highlights from all the matches on the YouTube Channel.

Meanwhile, Grand Slam and Six Nations champions England will take part in a five-team Women's Super Series in San Diego in the United States later this year.

Reigning world champions New Zealand, Canada, France and hosts the United States are the other teams who will feature in 10 Tests from June 28 to July 14.

Tennis

The Miami Open continues at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida, but there have been a couple of big-name casualties as world No 1 Naomi Osaka was dumped out in the third round by Hsieh Su-weih, defending champion Sloane Stephens was beaten in the same round by Tatjana Maria and Angelique Kerber went down once again to Bianca Andreescu.

Meanwhile, Serena Williams never made it onto the court as she withdrew from her third-round clash against Wang Qiang due to a knee injury.
