Superbowl Recipe: Cajun Chicken WIngs

Superbowl Recipe: Cajun Chicken WIngs

This year's Superbowl is being held in Louisiana, the home of Tabasco sauce so it makes sense that Tabasco have created this delicious recipe to accompany watching the 49th Superbowl!

Here's what you'll need and how to make it -

Cajun Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

450g/1lb chicken wings

200ml/7floz dry white wine

1 tbsp Tabasco® Pepper Sauce

1 onion, peeled and finely chopped

1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed

75g/3oz dark brown sugar

1 red chilli, seeded and chopped

1 heaped tsp paprika

1 tbsp tomato puree

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 tbsp freshly ripped coriander leaves

extra Tabasco® for serving

 Method:

1. Cut wing tips from wings and discard.  Halve remainder at the joint to give two pieces per wing.  Place in a bowl.  Pour over white wine and Tabasco® Pepper Sauce and leave for 30 minutes.

2. Transfer to a roasting dish with a slotted spoon.  Add onion, garlic, sugar, chilli, and paprika and tomato puree to wine mix and stir.   Season.  Pour over wings.

3. Bake in a pre-heated oven Gas 5 375F 190C for 30 minutes, covered with foil.  Remove foil and continue cooking, turning wings over occasionally, until sauce is reduced to a sticky, aromatic coating.

4. Scatter over coriander and serve sprinkled with extra Tabasco®.
