Weetabix on-the-go biscuits

Weetabix On The Go have revealed in a recent study that half of UK workers skip breakfast up to five times a week and this costs bosses £300 million in lost working hours due to reduced productivity.

The study showed a direct correlation between poor performance and going to work on an empty stomach in the morning, with workers who skip breakfast they are losing up to 82 minutes from their morning. It also revealed that the reasons behind the lack of breakfast were due to being too busy in the morning and not having time. 10% of the people commented by saying that they didn’t feel there was a suitable on-the-go option for busy mornings.

Ben Cooper from the Weetabix on the Go campaign comments ‘This research shows that poor productivity resulting from skipping breakfast is having a direct impact on the UK economy. We know there is more pressure on time in the morning than ever before, which was something we heard from consumers in the development of Weetabix on the Go Breakfast Biscuits. We also heard that that is causing more people to miss a traditional breakfast on occasion, and a large percentage are disappointed with the options they had for that On the Go breakfast. We've provided a range of breakfast biscuits delivering a filling fuelling breakfast to set them up for a productive day, even when they're busy.’

The research also revealed the regional differences; the frantic pace of life in the Capital might explain why the workers in London miss breakfast more frequently with workers skipping breakfast twice a week this could cost their bosses up to 101 lost minutes in unproductive time.

However, those in the West Midlands admit to missing breakfast at least two mornings each week, amounting to 73 minutes of lost productivity before lunch on those days. Additionally, the region that skips the least is the East Midlands with 51% of people saying that they never miss breakfast.

As for age groups, the under 25’s are the most likely to skip breakfast and almost a third of them miss the morning meal five times a week, compared to just the 19% of those in the 45-54 age bracket.

Weetabix now do on-the-go biscuits for people on-the-go, with three flavours milk & cereal, apple & cinnamon and fruit and fibre. So now there is no excuse to skip breakfast.
