The hugely popular Nintendo life simulation game has launched its Summer Update - version 1.4.0 - this week, and it includes a feature which was patched out of the game at an earlier date.

In a tweet from Animal Crossing World, it was revealed: "The past Camera App Glitch allowing you to remove the HUD has now been added as a native feature in Version 1.4 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

"Simply press in the right analog stick to remove the user interface. Thank you Nintendo!! #ACHH (sic)"

The update will also bring a festive fireworks event in August, as well as the ability to visit other user's islands through dreams, and save backup support.

However, it's important to note that the latter isn't supported to the same extend as cloud saves for other Nintendo Switch titles.

Instead, 'New Horizons' will update at unspecified times, which will back up your island and its inhabitants to the company's servers.
