The first ever mobile game in the 'Animal Crossing' series was announced earlier this year in a Nintendo Direct briefing, and it has now been revealed the game will hit iOS and Android devices in just two days time.

In a tweet sent out by the official Animal Crossing Twitter on Monday (20.11.17), Nintendo announced: "I'm so excited to share this news with you... Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will be coming to mobile devices worldwide on 11/22! I can't wait! #PocketCamp (sic)"

'Animal Crossing' is a community simulation video game series in which the human player lives in a village inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, carrying out various activities including fishing, bug catching and fossil hunting.

In 'Pocket Camp', players will undertake the same tasks as in the main game, but with Nintendo promising regular content updates, there is also the added bonus of "seasonal events", along with furniture and outfit items that you can get for a limited time.

'Pocket Camp' is free to play but does include micro-transactions, in which players exchange real money for in-game currency, and "Leaf Tickets" which speed up your progress in the game.

'Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp' comes as the first game to be released for the series in two years, after spin-off games 'Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer' and 'Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival', were released for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U respectively in 2015.

The last main game in the series, 'Animal Crossing: New Leaf', was released in 2012.
