Jose Araiza, the coordinating producer on 'Assassin's Creed Origins', admitted developer Ubisoft were keen to make the forthcoming title - which will drop on October 27 - as accessible as possible so have made the spec the same as the previous title, which was released two years ago.

Speaking to Ubi Blog, he said: "This means that the range of supported machines is wider than ever."

He admitted optimising the game - which will also be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - for PC was an important factor in the upcoming release.

Jose added: "The PC version was developed in parallel with all the other versions by the main team in Montreal, in collaboration with our PC-dedicated team in Ubisoft Kiev.

"This approach was adopted while the game features were being designed, making PC and mouse-and-keyboard controls a full part of the equation from the get-go."

In July, developer Ashraf Ismail revealed the forthcoming title's map size has "doubled" compared to some previous games.

He said: "If I compare it to previous games in the past, I don't actually know the exact numbers [for Origins], but I would say that it's at least twice the size of Havana from 'Black Flag'. At least.

"Having said that, I don't think of the size of the city is what matters. It's really the content, the experience that you have inside of it. It's how alive it is. So we filled these locations with quests, with making each city feel unique to itself, why was it important to Egypt."

The minimum operating systems required to play the new title are Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only), and at least 6GB is required.
