The upcoming first-person shooter video game is due for release at the start of November, and after a successful beta test for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users last month, PC users will be able to try out the game for themselves in 11 days time.

Sledgehammer Games announced recently that PC testing is set to take place between September 29 and October 2, and will be open to everyone who wishes to try out the product, regardless of whether they have pre-ordered the title or not.

The developers wrote on their website: "Now, the Multiplayer Beta is coming to PC as an Open Beta for all PC gamers.

"Together with Raven Software, we're excited to share that the 'Call of Duty: WWII' Open Multiplayer Beta on PC will kick off on September 29th and run through October 2nd on Steam.

"The PC Open Beta is just a small part of the full 'Call of Duty: WWII' Multiplayer experience coming to Steam in November. This test is a critical step on our road to delivering the best possible online experience on Steam at launch in November, with the following key goals:

"Stress test core gameplay systems and online backend infrastructure at scale

"Provide PC fans with their first hands-on experience of the boots-on-the-ground combat coming in Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer

"Engage with the PC community to fine-tune and optimize the PC experience for November (sic)"

Meanwhile, after the success of the console beta test in August, Sledgehammer announced they were looking at implementing a colour blind feature among other changes.

They said at the time: "Thank you for all the awesome, valuable feedback on the Private Multiplayer Beta. We've been really impressed with everyone's progress so far! So impressed, in fact, that we have now raised the level cap to 25! You'll now have unlockables such as the Bouncing Betty Lethal, Fighter Pilot Scorestreak, and more available. Let us know what you think!

"We love the positive reactions to the new overhead camera esports feature. In response to feedback about visibility of objectives, especially Hardpoints, we are currently working on solutions for launch.

"You have asked about a color blind setting in the menu. While not in the Beta, we have been working to have this for launch. (sic)"

'Call of Duty: WWII' is set to be released on November 3.
