At the Sony Interactive Entertainment E3 press conference one of the leading worldwide publisher revealed its latest entry in the 40 million unit selling RPG series and will be the first game in the series with a worldwide launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and eventually PC.

'Monster Hunter: World' has the player take on the role of a hunter that travels around slaying beasts in battles across the terrain.

Players can also go on quests alone or with up to three other hunters in the new online drop-in multiplayer system allowing people to play between Japan and the west for the first time ever.

With the new online drop-in facility solo players can ask for assistance from the worldwide group during quests when they are struggling to fight against an opponent.

The concept of the game is for the players to improve their character's skills to become the ultimate hunter with loot collected from foes to be used to build new equipment and armour upgrades styled after the monsters they have killed.

'Monster Hunter: World' will also feature day to night transitions as the player travels across the map and the landscape and its inhabitants have been revealed to play a critical role in each quest.

For those who attend the E3 event are able to see live gameplay presentations of the game in two booths which offer separate showcases of what players can expect from the game.

Players of the PlayStation 4 will be shown exclusive and unique gameplay for the console.

The game is slated for a 2018 release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and will be released on PC at a later date.
