The precise release date and the price of the much-hyped console remain a mystery for the time being, but ahead of a showcase event on Wednesday (16.09.20), Niko Partners' senior analyst Daniel Ahmad has claimed that the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition packages will include all of the same items.

Inside the boxes, gamers will find the console and a wireless DualSense controller, as well as an attachable base, an AC power cord, and a HDMI cable.

Ahmad also explained that the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will both arrive with a pre-installed copy of 'Astro's Playroom'.

The speculation comes shortly after Eric Lampel - Sony Interactive Entertainment's senior vice president and head of global marketing - insisted the PlayStation 5 "will launch this year" without delays.

Although the coronavirus pandemic has presented a number of challenges to the company as it prepares to release the console, Lampel doesn't think it will impact Sony's plans.

He said: "It's a massive challenge on every front.

"Not just for the parts of the organisation that I oversee, but for all parts of the organisation. The nice thing is that we're pulling it together.

"We will launch this year - that will happen - and from my end we will absolutely make sure that we will bring all of the magic and all of the excitement of launches that we have had in the past."
