The highly anticipated title's level designer Max Pears has revealed the feature - which was teased in a previously trailer and saw character V using a wall running mechanic to prop herself up above a group of enemies - has been ditched for "design reasons".

He told Gamereactor.eu: "Ah, the wall running. That is something that we removed due to design reasons, but there's still going to be a lot of flexibility in how you move, that's for sure."

The game itself - which was previously delayed from a planned April release to September - is finally set to drop on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows on November 19, with plans for a Stadia release by the end of the year and next-gen versions set for 2021.

However, fans will still get a taste of the game world thanks to upcoming comic book project 'Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team'.

The first issue in the new series - which will be released on September 9 - follows Nadia, who lives in Night City and is the lone survivor of a botched rescue by the eponymous Trauma Team International.

The synopsis reads: "Nadia, an assistant EMT for a privately-owned business known as Trauma Team International, is the sole survivor of a failed rescue mission turned shootout.

"After she agrees to continue work for an upcoming extraction mission, Nadia and her new team find themselves in an even more dangerous and life-threatening situation."
