The upcoming fighting game - which is based on the 'Dragon Ball' franchise including manga and a multiple animated television series - has announced that the characters Piccolo and Krillin will feature within its gameplay.

The two fighters were unveiled in the latest issue of Japanese magazine V-Jump, which also provided some brief information on each. While Piccolo and Krillin lack the power of the Saiyans on the roster, each one compensates for that with some unique abilities.

Piccolo can extended his arms to grab opponents as well as firing beam attacks at high speeds, whilst Krillin, can use classic 'Dragon Ball' moves like the Kamehameha and Afterimage Technique to battle foes.

Krillin's signature Destructo Disc attack is also impossible to block, and players will be able to control the trajectory of his Ki blasts.

Piccolo and Krillin join the roster of seven already announced characters in the game, including Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, and Future Trunks.

Publishers at Bandai Namco announced recently that a closed beta testing session will be held in due time for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users, provided they sign up to be a part of the testing by July 26.

For now, the game - which is being developed by Arc System Works - is set to come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC systems in early 2018, but Bandai Namco haven't ruled out a possible port for Nintendo's newest hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch.

However, game producer Tomoko Hiroki said the developer is focusing on 'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's Switch version first before thinking about what comes next.

He said: "We want players to first go there. And then we can talk about FighterZ."
