2018 will be a big year for 'Final Fantasy' fans.

Shinji Hashimoto, the Final Fantasy Brand Manager - who also acts as producer and executive producer on a number of titles - insist fans will be pleased with the new Final Fantasy games they are bringing out soon.
He said: "This year is the 30th anniversary of Final Fantasy. There aren't many things that go on for 30 years. With the support of the fans of Final Fantasy, next year will be the 31st year, and our teams are busy working on new titles. They are all gearing up for a big year next year. Next year is going to be a big year. I want to thank the fans for 30 years of support. Next year will be a big one, and we will bring exciting, new Final Fantasy games to the world. Thank you for all your support."
And Hashimoto also revealed his two favourite 'Final Fantasy' characters are Cloud Strife and Squall Lionheart.
Speaking to Edamame Arcade Channel, he added: "I began working on Final Fantasy from VII, I worked as the promotions producer for FF VII so it has to be Cloud Strife for me. Tetsuya Nomura showed me Cloud Strife back then and I always have a special place for him.
"The first game I worked on from beginning to end as producer was Final Fantasy VIII so Squall Lionheart is special for me as well. So, for me, my characters are Cloud and Squall, we have been through a lot together."
