A tweet on the official 'Football Manager' Twitter account revealed the game will drop in two months, and for the first time all three of the game's versions will be made available on the same day.

'Football Manager 2018' is the main PC, Mac and Linux game, but there is also 'Football Manager Touch 2018' for PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android, and the handheld version, 'Football Manager Mobile 2018' for iOS and Android.

A Beta version of the popular football management simulator will be made available two weeks before the title launches, and players will be able to carry their saves on when the full game is released.

SEGA and Sports Interactive are remaining tight-lipped about exact changes to the 2018 title.

Just an hour after the 'Football Manager 2018' news broke, pre-orders rocketed the game into the Steam top 10.

Game director Miles Jacobson tweeted: "1 hour after #FM18 announce & #FM17 special discount, we've 2 games in top 10 at Steam. Your trust & loyalty really means a lot. Thank you. (sic)"

Sports Interactive will release more details about 'FM18' in September.

Miles tweeted: "Most asked question - "why do we not hear about features until end of September".

The game isn't ready to show

Our current schedule is....

"Gameplay feature complete - this week

UI feature complete - Friday

Art complete - Sept 15th

Only then can comms start taking screens/videos (sic)"
