We're in strange times, where the smallest of distractions are welcome to take our minds off the madness of the world right now! Last night (March 17th, 2020), gamers got a look at some of the most exciting indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch thanks to the Indie World Showcase, and there were so many different titles to start getting hyped about!

Here, we take a look at the seven which caught our attention with stunning teasers, gorgeous graphics and unique narratives...

7. Blue Fire

This single-player adventure from developer ROBI Studios will release in summer this year, as gamers are tasked with travelling through the "perished world" of Penumbra. On their travels, they'll come across "diverse enemies, sharp 3D platforming challenges, quests, collectibles, and more." The haunting character designs and eye-catching graphics really allow Blue Fire to stand out from the crowd.

6. Baldo

Developer Naps Team drop their upcoming action-adventure Baldo this summer on Nintendo Switch, opening up a world packed full of strange and mysterious characters, each with their own wit and charm. A main story quest combines with multiple side quests to deliver a jam-packed experience that should challenge even the most experienced gamers.

5. I Am Dead

I Am Dead is an upcoming puzzle-adventure game from developer Hollow Ponds, published by Annapurna Interactive. The story follows recently-deceased museum curator Morris Lupton, who's reunited with his late dog Sparky, only to discover that he must work hard to save the island he loves so much from destruction.

4. Cyanide & Happiness: Freakpocalypse

Also dropping in the summer is Freakpocalypse, taking place in the beloved Cyanide & Happiness universe. Players will take control of a "weird, unpopular, ginger-headed orphan", who's tasked with saving the world in the midst of ultimate chaos. What more do you need to want to get involved?

3. Summer In Mara

Despite the title, Summer In Mara will actually be launching in spring, from developer and publisher Chibig. This open ocean has over 20 islands for you to explore, as you take on the role of the lead female adventurer and discover the secrets the ocean keeps. The calming colours and style used invites audiences in, and when you embark on your questing you'll be tasked with over 300 missions to make Mara a better place.

2. The Good Life

Naomi is a journalist from New York, who moves to a British town called Rainy Woods in a bid to pay off her massive debt. Whilst she's there however, she realises that her new home is far from ordinary... The Good Life gives players the challenge of solving mysteries whilst enjoying the charm of the title, which comes from developers White Owls and Grounding.

1. The Last Campfire

Hello Games have moved far away from their space adventuring in No Man's Sky with The Last Campfire; a unique tale that sees its leading character searching for meaning and a way home. You will play a lost ember, who travels deeper into the lands beyond the dark forest than ever before, discovering wilderness packed full of interesting characters, creatures and locations.
