The hugely popular mobile game will now allow users to dress their character in a brand new set of clothes inspired by the Hawaiian-themed land of Alola, which is where the brand new 3DS titles Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - which are sequels to 2016's Sun and Moon games - takes place.

The new items include clothing such as a sun hat, sandals, and shorts, amongst other things, and all the new additions are free to all players of the augmented reality app, which was released by Niantic in mid-2016.

Pokemon Go's new clothes are available now, and come as the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon titles are set to drop on Friday (17.11.17).

The two new releases follow on from the 2016 titles released for the 3DS, and in September, Nintendo announced which legendary creatures would serve as the ultimate goal for players to catch.

In every main Pokemon game, the final part of the storyline involves finding and catching a powerful legendary beast, and 'Ultra Sun' and 'Ultra Moon' are no different.

However, the difference with these Pokemon is that instead of being wild Pokemon like in previous games, they follow the idea presented in 'Sun and Moon' about a separate world full of Ultra Beasts, and it is these Ultra Beasts that serve as the legendary Pokemon for the games.

That's not all, as the legendary Pokemon Necrozma - which was available after defeating the Elite Four in 'Sun and Moon' - will play a larger role in the new games too.

Depending on which version of the game players own, Necrozma will merge with 'Sun and Moon's existing legendary Pokemon - Solgaleo and Lunala respectively - to create a new hybrid Pokemon.

In 'Ultra Sun', it merges with Solgaleo to become Dusk Mane Necrozma, while in 'Ultra Moon' it possesses Lunala to become Dawn Wings Necrozma.
