The augmented reality mobile game will honour the release of the brand-new ‘Pokemon Snap’ game for Nintendo Switch later this month with an exclusive event in which players will be able to get their hands on a rare Shiny Smeargle.

‘Pokemon Go’s event kicks off on April 29, one day before the release of ‘New Pokemon Snap’, and will be all about Pokemon from the Lental Region, which is the setting for the new photography game.

The event will see Pokémon like Lotad, Cacnea, Ducklett, Vaporeon, Meganium, and Trapinch appearing in the wild and in raids.

But the real draw for the event is Shiny Smeargle, which will make its ‘Pokemon Go’ debut on April 29 and will only be available until May 2.

To catch it, players must try to obtain a Smeargle in the usual way, which involves taking snapshots with ‘Pokemon Go’s in-game camera.

When a Smeargle appears, there will be a chance for it to be the elusive shiny variant.

‘New Pokemon Snap’ will be released for Nintendo Switch on April 30, and is an updated version of the classic 1999 video game which was available on the Nintendo 64.

The game sees players take on the role of a Pokemon photographer who visits various islands to snap pictures of the pocket monsters.
