The release of the two new main games is this Friday (17.11.17) and fans who use the mobile app can now dress their avatars in new gear inspired by the Alola region.

In a statement, Niantic - the software company behind the game - said: "We're excited to announce that new avatar items are now available. To celebrate the upcoming launch of the 'Pokemon Ultra Sun' and 'Pokemon Ultra Moon' games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, you'll be able to dress your 'Pokemon Go' avatar in brand-new outfits inspired by the tropical Alola region."

The can access the new gear by clicking the player icon in the left portion of the screen and free outfits can be found in the style section of the profile.

The new items include clothing such as a sun hat, sandals, and shorts, amongst other things, and all the new additions are free to all players of the augmented reality app, which was released by Niantic in mid-2016.

The two new releases follow on from the 2016 titles released for the 3DS, and in September, Nintendo announced which legendary creatures would serve as the ultimate goal for players to catch.

In every main Pokemon game, the final part of the storyline involves finding and catching a powerful legendary beast, and 'Ultra Sun' and 'Ultra Moon' are no different.

However, the difference with these Pokemon is that instead of being wild Pokemon like in previous games, they follow the idea presented in 'Sun and Moon' about a separate world full of Ultra Beasts, and it is these Ultra Beasts that serve as the legendary Pokemon for the games.
