The video game publisher has given fans of the ever-popular franchise an insight into what they can expect from the new edition of the title, including a new feature called Stories, which gives classic players three Ultimate Team cards that relate to different stages of their careers.

However, gamers have been informed that they will only be able to get these features in limited time packs and squad building challenges.

EA also showcased new 'FIFA 18' gameplay, streaming a full match, played by six real-life soccer stars who play for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Another of the new features revealed is called Squad Battles, which are weekly single-player competitions that allow gamers to compete against AI-controlled squads.

In June, meanwhile, it was announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will be the EA Sports 'FIFA 18' Global Cover Star.

The attacker is thrilled to have been chosen after a magnificent season on the pitch with Real Madrid, which saw him win the Champions League.

He said at the time: "It is a real pleasure to be on the cover of 'FIFA 18'.

"It's a great feeling and I am grateful to have been chosen."
