Following criticism that the EA title does not offer enough tones, Lyndsay Pearson, Executive Producer and General Manager on 'The Sims', has vowed to increase their tones later this year.

She announced on Twitter: "We're promising to fix the visual artifacts with existing skin tones and increase the number of tones available in The Sims 4 this Fall."

They added 10 medium-to-dark tones two years ago, however, some gamers were not impressed.

However, EA has promised to improve the "blotchy artifacts and ashy tones".

The frustration led to a Change.org petition being launched in June, calling for more swatches and a colour wheel.

Sims YouTubers including lilsimsie and Plumbella backed the campaign.

Following this summer's Black Lives Matter protests, which were sparked after the death of unarmed black man George Floyd while in police custody, EA supported the movement for racial equality and donated $1 million to organisations fighting for justice.

They wrote in a blog post: "We're contributing $1 million to organizations dedicated to the fight for racial justice in the U.S. and against discrimination around the world. Beginning with the Equal Justice Initiative, the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund, and with more partners to come, we are deepening our support of organizations working to stop systemic racial injustice, fight discrimination and protect human rights in the U.S. and beyond. In addition to our company contribution, we'll double match any funds that you donate to these and any other local organizations through our YourCause program during the month of June. (sic)"
