Square Enix Ltd have announced that the prequel title - which has been co-developed with tri-Ace - will be a full HD remaster with added 4K, keyboard and PC controller support, and set at the beginning of the 'Star Ocean' timeline.

The original title in the role playing game series was released in 1996 in Japan, and the latest addition is a re-issue of the 2009 title of the same name.

The game will take players on a journey across the 'Star Ocean' universe in an intergalactic story of survival, which sees humanity turning to the stars in its search for a new home.

The remastered title will include an expansive Item Creation System, and strategic real-time combat.

Gamers will also enjoy the Private Action System - which explores characters relationships and subplots to add to a more rewarding story - and the Blindside battle system, which combines evasion and offense into combat encounters.

'Star Ocean - The Last Hope - 4K & Full HD Remaster' - will launch digitally on the PlayStation Store and Steam on November 28, with a 10% discount for users who purchase it until December 12.

Steam users will get an exclusive download of a mini-soundtrack, while those who buy it for PlayStation 4 before January 8 next will will get an exclusive system theme, and 12 Network avatars featuring the main characters.
