Microsoft has warned that there may be issues with the launch of the Xbox One X.

The much-hyped console is poised to launch in the coming days - but Microsoft UK Category Director Harvey Eagle has admitted there may be stock issues when the new device goes on sale.

Speaking to GI.biz, Harvey explained: "It was the fastest pre-order of an Xbox that we've ever had. I can't guarantee that stock will be available in launch week for people to just walk into a store and pick up.

"Demand is really high. I'd just encourage people if they want one at launch, to get moving."

Despite this, Harvey explained that Microsoft will be taking delivery of consoles every week between the launch and Christmas.

As a result, there ought to be plenty of scope for consumers to get their hands on one of the consoles as the holiday season builds up.

He shared: "What I can say is that we will have new stock deliveries into retail each week as we get through to Christmas."

Last week, meanwhile, Microsoft announced that it has stopped making the Kinect sensor.

The technology giant produced the motion sensor for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles, and whilst the product sold millions of units across both iterations, the company has decided to pull the plug on making the device.
