The upcoming game will be one of more than 30 launch titles for Microsoft's next generation console, and the developer has opened up about how gamers can expect it to perform.

Chief producer Masayoshi Yokoyama told Xbox Wire: "I was personally most excited about the reduction in loading times due to the SSD, it's nearly instantaneous; there's not even time to read the loading screen tips!"

He added that the game's "performance level" is also on a whole other level than the team have been able to work towards in the past.

He added: "Being able to develop Yakuza: Like a Dragon on Xbox Series X gave us an opportunity to develop the game at a much higher performance level than we’ve ever been able achieve before.

"Seeing the game run at a smooth 60 FPS gameplay experience or in native 4K with near-instant load times is incredible."

He noted that the new enhancements will benefit gamers in a big way.

He explained: "It allows the player to enjoy the game however they’d like – varying graphics options and playing across hardware generations makes it a much more enjoyable experience overall."
