Think Money has found that 57% of women who have a gym membership don't actually go- however they don't cancel it because they convince themselves that they are going to go at some point!

Do you slack off?

Do you slack off?

So we take a look at some of the strangest reasons women stop going to the gym and challenge each and every one;

I couldn't be bothered shaving me legs- Even though your gym outfit consists of long bottoms that cover your legs, ankles and most of your shoes?! Are people going to be looking that closely in the pool?

I don't want to look like a body builder- If you ask the staff, they will be able to advise you on exercises that make you look less Hulk Hogan and more Sarah Jessica Parker.

I'm on my period- Most research has proved that exercising on your period can help reduce period pain, so that's not an excuse.

I don't want to get sweaty and have to wash my hair- The likelihood is that you will wash your hair the next morning anyway, so stop fooling yourself.

I feel too fat to put on my gym clothes- Is that not the reason most people go to the gym?!

I haven't done my fake tan, so I'm too pale to go to the gym- You will only sweat it off anyway!

I've only just done my fake tan, and so I don't want to go streaky- Just throw on some long pants and a long sleeved t-shirt and no one will know your little secret.

My gym clothes aren't trendy enough- People don't notice- it's not a fashion parade- gym goers are generally plugged in to their machines anyway and are oblivious of those around them.

People will think I look stupid when trying to lift weights- You think you look silly- no one else cares- just get on with it.

Sweating is bad for my pores- Actually it cleans them out and unclogs them- making your skin look better not worse.
