Jessica's athletic figure has left us all a little envious

New research by the UK’s leading discount website has revealed that the British public has chosen Olympian champion Jessica Ennis as their perfect ‘body idol’, beating other celebrities such as Beyonce, Kelly Brook, and Eva Mendes for the top spot.

The study, conducted by www.MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, polled 2,103 British women in order to discover more about their body preferences and which celebrity they feel has the ‘perfect’ body.

Respondents were asked which celebrity, in their opinion, had the ‘perfect body’, to which the multiple answers were as follows;

  1. Jessica Enis – 65%
  2. Eva Mendes – 61%
  3. Kelly Brook – 54%
  4. Beyonce – 52%
  5. Nicole Scherzinger – 49%
  6. Pippa Middleton – 43%
  7. Kelly Rowland – 38%
  8. Cheryl Cole – 35%
  9. Megan Fox – 32%
  10. Mila Kunis – 27%

Her abs have been voted her best body part, with a special mention made to her bottom too. Jessica's athletic physique has also inspired 25% of people to get fit.

Mark Pearson, Chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, had the following to say about the findings:

“It has been an amazing year for British sports so it comes as no surprise that many women have chosen Jessica Ennis as their perfect body idol. With her world famous abs and athletic build, the Olympian is proof that skinny and unhealthy looking women are no longer fashionable. Let’s hope the new healthy and athletic look is here to stay."

According to the research, when asked whether or not they preferred to have a slightly curvier figure, an athletic figure or a slim and skinny figure 57%, of respondents said that they preferred to have an athletic figure, while 29% said they would want a curvier figure. Just 14% said that wanted a skinnier figure.

Mark continued: “As an overwhelming majority of women have chosen the athlete as their perfect body idol, it is the perfect time to make those healthy body resolutions for the New Year and start off on the right foot! Eating a healthier diet with more exercise and less sweets can truly transform you into a new person. While the last couple of days of 2012 are slowly counting down, making a healthy resolution for 2013 is a safe bet for a better, healthier you.”
