Fad diets are not the key to a healthy lifestyle.

It is likely that you have got to a stage in your life where you were not happy with your body image and decided to go on a diet and lose weight. This is perfectly normal and can have lasting effects if it is done in the right way. But many woman are chosing to go on a quick fix fad diet in order to lose weight quickly. Fad diets can be more dangerous than beneficial to your health and are not worth the health risks involved.

Health risks

When you lose weight quickly, the majority of that weight is water weight which will lead you to feel run down and dehyrated.

Starting a fad diet means you will be reducing your calorie intake. We need calories to give us energy throughout the day and by depriving our bodies of the necessary calories we need can make us feel tired throughout the day.

Losing weight at a fast pace can result in severe diarrhea, quickly followed by constipation. This can lead to dehydration, which has serious health risks to the body.

Fad diets cut out necessities that the body needs to stay healthy such as fats and carbs. By cutting these out, it can lead to severe malnutrition.

Although fad diets can make you lose weight in a small amount of time, once you have started to eat regulary again, the weight can come piling right back on.

By not eating the nutritions our body needs to stay healthy, hair and muscle loss may occur.

If you want to lose weight, the only way to do this healthfully is to alter the way you live. This means eating all the necessary foods that provides you with the nutritions and vitimins you need whilst exercising on a regular basis. Fad diets can seem temping when you wish to lose weight but to lose weight healthfully takes time and there is no quick way around it. Fad diets can lead to serious health problems and in some cases death. Now think carefully before you decide which diet you will be going on.
