You wake up on Sunday morning after an especially vigorous party with wine, pizza, and snacks. Feeling like the fattest person in this world, you promise yourself finally make it to the gym tomorrow. Yes, this Monday will change your life (and body) forever.

This blatant lie sounds suspiciously familiar, doesn’t it? How many times have you already started exercising but gave up after one bad day? You start, you quit. This vicious circle goes on for years, while your shape is still there.

How to quit quitting the gym and become consistent with your training? Get into the habit three secrets I’ll share with you below.

1. Manifest your goal

Some people need a little bit of community support to keep going toward their goals. Nowadays, it’s quite easy to get this support even if none of your closest friends shares your values. The easiest way is to use a social media account to manifest your plan and report your daily activity with posts or stories.

Some women even wonder how to start a fitness blog to write longer reports on their results. The most successful even start publishing their own fitness and nutrition tips to make it useful for the readers as well. Sharing experience with others and receiving feedback motivates you to keep up with your goals, no matter how hard is the process of their achieving. A promise you make to your followers is much harder to break than those we make to ourselves.

2. Make the process enjoyable

38% of women workout because they want indulgence for excessive eating. And this is the worst motivation that you could ever come up with.

Why? These women concentrate on the result which is totally unrelated to fitness. Some of them also train solely to get fit without noticing other benefits of the training process. The final result may and should serve as your major motivation, but unfortunately, it’s not what will evoke the genuine interest in sports and therefore retain you in the gym.

The thing that will is the enjoyment which you feel after every single workout. And even though your body produces an extra dose of endorphins after hard training, sometimes it still doesn’t justify your efforts.

So what does? Well, it varies from person to person. Some of you may bring a bit of fun by taking a friend or becoming more social on the spot. Others feel excitement while they try something new all the time: new exercise, new equipment, new sports, etc. There is also a category of women who enjoy training more if they wear specific clothes, and so on. Find what YOU enjoy about fitness the most and focus on it.

3. Follow 'the closer, the better' rule

Have just heard about a new luxury gym opening in Greenwich while living in Brent? Forget about it. If you spend more time on commuting than on actual exercising, then it’s a clear hint for you to change your fitness club.

The closeness of your gym allows you to provide time for exercise without sacrificing other activities.

The optimal walking time from your place to the club is 5-10 minutes. Some of you may also prefer to go there after hours, and it can work well for those who get highly motivated by their job. Vice versa, if you feel too exhausted after work, it’s better to sign for the gym near your house.

And remember: hold steady for at least a month or two, and you will notice you feel nothing but joy after workouts. This is exactly the time needed to see your first results (your best motivation) and form another healthy habit to maintain with ease.
