Will you survive hell week with Hayley?

Will you survive hell week with Hayley?

This week at the Italia Conti Arts Centre, I introduced HELL WEEK…dum dum dum! A week filled with intense challenges, fitness & performance. It was a good way to set them up for a fun-filled weekend of stuffing their faces with Easter Eggs.

Life is far too short, so I don’t believe in denying yourself the luxuries in life, however, I do believe in working them off.

So, this week we have to all push ourselves. I thought maybe I need to give you all a 3 level goal, which would depend on how much of a chocolate fix you need.

Cadbury Caramel Egg -A Little piece of Heaven

Now if you can just keep to this over the weekend I would be impressed, therefore, these few exercises will keep that tummy at bay!

  1. Invite some pals over, turn on some tunes, and have a 37-minute dance party. You know you haven't forgotten the Macarena.

OR…

  1. Give your honey an end-of-the-day massage for 42 minutes and you'll burn around 200 calories. (Just make sure you get one in return.)

Buttons Easter Egg, Cadbury- Temptation calling

Per Cadburys Buttons Medium Easter Egg (162g)

Calories 858

I do understand the calling of such a temptation, and maybe I will join you myself on this one. However, the reality is we need to knock off those extra calories and fast. Here are the best exercises for a quick result….

1.Jogging at an average speed of five miles an hour will burn over 900 calories in just one hour for a person at an average weight of 72.6 Kilogram. If you're just starting out, it is best to divide the jogging into two half hour sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening.

OR…

2. Rollerblading twice a day for just 35 minutes you can easily burn 1000 calories per day. Don’t forget, for those mums out there, this is a great way to have fun with your kids & get THEM out exercising, instead of watching tv or playing computer games.

Dairy Milk Easter Egg, Cadbury

Oh my, you guys are in trouble this weekend. For this pure indulgence I am going to have to put you through some “hellish” exercises to get those calories burnt off.

Burning 2000 calories from exercise alone is like the equivalent of walking 20 miles or more in a day. Are you really doing this much exercise? Not impossible, of course, but not practical for most people!

Now it’s not healthy to burn so many calories in one day, so you are going to have to pay for this chocolate indulgence….

The speed at which your body burns calories is called the metabolic rate. If you consume 1000 calories a day and burn 1000 calories a day, your weight will remain the same. However, if you consume 2000 calories a day and burn only 1500 calories in a day, your weight will increase at around 1 pound a week

Uh Oh!

Studies have shown that performing regular weight training increases the basal metabolic rate by around 15 percent.

A start….

Day 1

  1. Roller blade or jog for 35 minutes 500 calories

OR…

  1. On average, you can burn 7– 12 calories per minute by doing some weightlifting. This means that 40 minutes of weightlifting should burn about 280 calories at a minimum – which is comparable to just about any other kind of aerobic exercise, according to health experts.

(Use water bottles instead of weights to help you with this if you don’t have any to hand)

Do this for 3 days and you will have worked off that egg, but really is it worth it?

Happy Easter Everyone. Don’t let that Bunny bounce off with your figure ;)
