Gladskin have an incredible range of products

A groundbreaking new study, conducted by Dutch biotech company Micreos, has clinically proven that their Gladskin products can alleviate eczema symptoms and improve quality of life, in both children and adults.

Published late last year in the December 2021 issue of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, the study showed that the Gladskin Eczema Cream, which is free from corticosteroids, is well tolerated and effective, using a Staphylococcus aureus targeted technology to improve symptoms such as itchiness and redness within days.

In fact, 100% of children and 95% of adults who took part in the study saw a vast improvement in quality of life.

The cream contains Micreos’s proprietary endolysin, Staphefekt SA.100™, an enzyme that helps to rebalance the skin microbiome by targeting only the S. aureus bacteria.

Dermatologist Dr. Peter Lio, Scientific Advisory Board member for the American National Eczema Association, comments: "The role of Staphylococcus aureus in Atopic Dermatitis continues to emerge as a fundamental disease driver. This study is what we have been waiting for - a truly new avenue of treatment for our many patients living with eczema."

As one of the most difficult skin conditions to treat, eczema is present in one out of 10 adults, and one out of five children in the UK. Over half admit that their eczema has made them feel that they've been treated differently and, that they've been stopped from living life to the fullest. So, it's more important than ever to try and find an answer.

In addition to using Gladskin’s Eczema Cream, Clinical Microbiologist Dr Bjorn Herpers’s shares his top tips on additional ways you can help your skin to alleviate eczema symptoms and balance bacteria on the skin’s microbiome.

1. Be mindful - soaps, harsh chemicals, drying alcohol disrupt the bacterial balance by killing the good and bad bacteria and over half of those with eczema think soaps are the main trigger for eczema. Being mindful about what you put on your skin is key.

2. Create or improve a daily skin care routine - a daily routine of cleansing the skin with a gentle face wash and without perfumes will help keep the bacteria in balance. Using skincare products that are based upon a scientific understanding of the skin’s microbiome is even better.

3. Research - find out what triggers your eczema and if it is worsened by Staphylococcus aureus - in the majority of cases Staphylococcus aureus plays a role.

4. Target the bad bacteria only - if your skin condition is caused by Staphylococcus aureus we would recommend Gladskin’s Eczema Cream. Now clinically proven to help alleviate symptoms, it is the first skincare range to contain an enzyme that selectively targets the bad bacteria from the microbiome, whilst leaving the good bacteria unharmed. This approach restores the balance of bacteria so the skin can heal.

5. Test - If you try a new product with an active ingredient, first test it on a small, non-infected, body part.
