Fresh faced at Erdem

Fresh faced at Erdem

Fresh, dewy, glowing skin is a beauty trend we all wish we could achieve when we roll out the bed but the chances are it's not going to happen.

The fresh faced look was seen at plenty of major runway shows and the models showcased their natural beauty, leaving us very envious. Chloe, Giambattista Valli, Givenchy, Erdem, Missoni and Stella McCartney were the shows that let the skin talk for itself and complete focus was therefore on the clothing.

This beauty trend works really well is the Aztec or marble print trends of the season, as you’re not competing with yourself for the attention.

To achieve this look you really need to focus on skin preparation, making sure your skin is well looked after and taken care of.

Obviously follow the three-step cleaning routine daily: Cleanse, tone and moisturise, and then make sure you treat your skin to weekly masks to ensure it’s kept clean and clear.

If you suffer from spots, you’re best opting for a spot clearing treatment wash that will target those zones.

Prepping the skin is the most important part of this beauty trend, a lot of time and effort should be placed on this.

Start with a radiance boosting serum, then massage in a glowing moisturiser. Don’t forget some light reflecting eye cream for the super delicate skin around your eyes too. Rub this in gently with your ring finger so you don’t pull the skin.

After you’ve applied moisturiser apply a primer that will help to keep makeup set for longer and creates a blank canvas for you to apply your makeup too.

Use a light foundation to create a base and apply it with clean fingers to make sure it’s really worked into the skin. Once you’ve done this use a highlighter crème along your cheekbones, on your brow bone and down the bridge of your nose to create a gleam.

I think this look works well if you apply some Vaseline to your eyelids too, this makes them gleam that little bit more.

Finish with a sweep of brown mascara to keep the look natural and some lip balm to make sure your lips are moisturised in the sun.
