Mary Katrantzou Spring/Summer 2012

Mary Katrantzou Spring/Summer 2012

We've seen fishtails and buns dominate the beauty pages as the hair style that we all should be wearing, but this coming season it's all about to change.

Welcome back the return of the ponytail.

Now don't just think of a simple one-dimension pony because they've been updated to many different styles to suit all of the different shaped faces and to match the even of which you will be attending, whether it's a formal dinner or an afternoon trip to the park.

Make your pony tail work for you.

We've got the man behind the looks for Mary Katrantzou, Jaeger's and Moschino Cheap and Chic's Spring/Summer runway show to tell us exactly how we can replicate their stunning styles.

Mary Katrantzou

Sam McKnight, Pantene Pro-V's Global Stylist Ambassador, created a naïve, childlike and floaty low ponytail hair look for the Mary Katrantzou show, to complement the colourful, floral, watery tone of the collection which was themed ‘Nature vs. Nurture’.

He says: "It was important to keep the hair simple, so we wanted tocreate this light, halo-like effect with the hair."

4.Lightly finish with a mist of Pantene Pro-V Classic Hairspray to hold the style in place without weighing it down.

Moschino Cheap and Chic

Sam McKnight captures the simplicity of nature, with a fresh, young look that embodies concept of the collection -‘healthy body, healthy mind’.

He says: "I wanted the hair look to capture the simplicity of nature, something fresh and young to reflect the carefree attitude of the Moschino Cheap and Chic girl."

Jaeger

Sam created a rich, luxurious hair look that was both glamorous and contemporary. The look reflected the collection, inspired by glamour of the ‘70s jet set and their exotic holiday hideaways.

He says: "The low side parting, with the hair combed over one ear juxtaposed a kind of boyishness with the luxurious polished pony tail."
