How will you be preparing for the school run?

The summer holidays are finally coming to an end, and whilst there may be plenty of prep going into new school uniforms, the mums are getting ready for back to school too.

New research reveals mums are busy planning their outfits and spending £658 million between them so that they look good at the start of term.

The main reason mums worry about looking good at the school gate is for their kids, with over a quarter admitting they spend time on their appearance so as not to embarrass their child in front of their classmates.

However, the research from VoucherCodes.co.uk also shows one in five mums plan their outfit in advance to look good in front of other parents, with nine per cent treating the school run like a social occasion where being seen is the aim of the game.

One in six mothers reveals they plan their school run outfit at least a week in advance to make sure it looks perfect, while one in seven buys a completely new ensemble for the back to school run.

One in twelve glam mums confess they get their hair and nails done and even their fake tan topped up in order to dazzle at the school gate, spending an average of £25.88 on spa treatments.

Luscious London mummies spend the most, splashing out £136.10 on looking picture perfect for their child’s first day back, purchasing new outfits, shoes and jewellery, coupled with a trip to the salon to get their hair, nails and tan done.
